About Cerebral Palsy: | |
Cerebral Palsy also known as (CP) is a disorder that effects muscle tone, movement and motor skills.
CP is caused by brain damage that occurs before or duirng a child’s birth. It can also occur during the first 3 – 5 years of a child’s life. This kind of brain damage can also cause other health issues like vision, hearing, and speech problems and learning disabilities. |

How Occupational Therapy can Help Cerebral Palsy: | |

OT helps develop fine motor skills for dressing, feeding, writing, and other activities of daily living. The therapist can identify problems with strength, abnormal muscle tone, eye-hand coordination, visual perceptual skills, and sensory processing skills.

The goal is for the individual to participate as actively and fully as they can in all areas of activities of daily living; such as self-care, play, and school skills.
